Managing Partner
Michael J. Cook’s practice focuses on land use and real estate transactions. Mr. Cook represents individuals and companies in a broad range of complex land use and transactional matters, including the adoption and amendment of general plans and specific plans, zoning law matters, CEQA compliance, Mello-Roos District formation and development agreements. Mr. Cook has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting purchase, option, lease, easement and loan agreements for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
Mr. Cook graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1984. He received his Juris Doctor degree from McGeorge School of Law, with honors, in 1987. He was awarded membership in the Traynor Honor Society and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Creditor’s Rights. Mr. Cook joined the firm in 1987. He became a partner in 1994 and has served as the firm’s managing partner since 1998.
In addition to his real estate and land use law practice, Mr. Cook has been a member of a number of community boards and committees, including The Parkway at Folsom Owner’s Association Board of Directors, the Capitol Area Political Action Committee, and The Sacramento Ballet Board of Directors.
