Gregory A. Forest’s practice focuses on land use planning and environmental law.

Mr. Forest graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning in 1997. He received his Juris Doctor with Distinction from McGeorge School of Law in 2005. He was Comment Writer and Primary Managing Editor of the McGeorge Law Review, a McGeorge Mock Trial Competition Team Member, a Student Associate of the Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court and Vice Magister of Phi Delta Phi (Peter Shields Inn).

Prior to working at Hefner, Stark & Marois, LLP, Mr. Forest worked as a planner with the Merced County Planning Department where he processed a variety of land use entitlement permits, subdivisions, Williamson Act contracts, and drafted environmental (CEQA) approvals. He has been an associate at Hefner, Stark & Marois, LLP since 2005.

Mr. Forest has assisted residential and commercial developers in the development of land in Sacramento, Madera, Placer, Yolo and Yuba Counties. He has been involved in complex projects involving master planning, development agreements, annexations and rezones.

Mr. Forest is a member of the Environmental and Real Estate Sections of the Sacramento County Bar and the Real Property Section of the State Bar of California, was President of Toastmasters International Club 7302 Merced (2001-2002), and was a Volunteer in the Peace Corps of the United States, in El Salvador, Central America (1998-2000).
